Is a 3.5 ton heat pump the right size?
A 3.5 ton heat pump delivers 42,000 BTU/h of cooling and typically fits about 1,800 to 2,100 square feet in Florida. Heat pumps are sized for cooling here, because cooling is by far the larger load. Confirm with a Manual J load calculation before you buy; see the sizing guide.
3.5 ton heat pump or 3.5 ton air conditioner?
Both cool the same way. The heat pump adds efficient heating, so you rarely need the backup strip heater. Our 3.5 ton Goodman AC system is in stock today.
