HVAC Supply That Sells to the Public

Best A/C & Wholesale sells central air conditioning systems at wholesale pricing to homeowners, landlords and contractors alike. Here is what you can buy, how ordering works, and the Florida rules on warranty, permits and refrigerant you should know first.

In-stock Goodman R-32 systems

Every system below is a matched Goodman condenser and air handler, sold together and in stock for scheduled same-day pickup in North Port. Our price is below the manufacturer's advertised minimum, so it is shown in your cart: add a system to see it, with no obligation.

Yes, we sell HVAC equipment to homeowners

Most HVAC supply houses sell only to licensed contractors with a trade account. Best A/C & Wholesale is different: homeowners, property managers, landlords and contractors all buy at the same wholesale pricing, with no trade account and no license needed to purchase. You order by phone or online and pick up at a scheduled time at our North Port warehouse, or we arrange delivery.

Florida law lets us do this. A business that only furnishes equipment and supplies does not need a contractor license (Fla. Stat. 489.103). The rules apply to installing the equipment, not buying it. We explain them below so you buy the right way.

What you can buy from us

Our in-stock line is Goodman R-32 complete systems: a matched outdoor condenser and indoor air handler, from 2 to 5 tons. Add any system to your cart to see our price. Each size has its own guide:

How buying works

  1. Pick a size. Use the table above or our sizing guide, or call with your square footage and the model number from your current unit.
  2. Order by phone or online. Call (239) 771-0425 or order on the product page. Contractors can open a trade account for repeat orders.
  3. Line up a licensed installer. Anyone can buy the equipment, but connecting and charging the refrigerant system must be done by an EPA Section 608-certified technician, and Goodman's warranty requires installation by a licensed dealer for units ordered online or by phone. Tell us if you need one and we can arrange licensed installation.
  4. Pick up or take delivery. Pickup is scheduled at 1050 Innovation Ave, Suite B103, North Port, FL 34289 (no walk-ins). Delivery is available across Southwest Florida on request.

Before you buy: warranty, permits and refrigerant

Protect your warranty. Goodman's warranty excludes "units that are ordered over the Internet, by telephone, or by other electronic means unless the unit is installed by a dealer adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local codes, policies, and licensing requirements." Have a licensed contractor install the system. We can arrange licensed installation. Different warranty terms apply to rentals and other homes not occupied by the owner.

  • Permits. An AC change-out in Florida needs a mechanical permit. A homeowner can pull one as an owner-builder for their own home under Fla. Stat. 489.103(7), but must supervise the work personally.
  • Refrigerant work. Connecting, evacuating and charging the refrigerant lines must be done by an EPA 608-certified technician, even on an owner-builder job.
  • Efficiency. Florida requires at least 14.3 SEER2 for split AC under 45,000 BTU/h and 13.8 SEER2 at or above it, judged at installation. Every system we stock is AHRI-certified at or above the minimum for its size (14.0 to 14.5 SEER2).

Frequently asked questions

Can a homeowner buy HVAC equipment at a supply house?
Many supply houses sell only to licensed contractors, but Best A/C & Wholesale sells to homeowners at the same wholesale pricing contractors pay. No trade account or license is needed to buy.
Do I need a license to buy an air conditioner in Florida?
No. Florida licensing applies to installing HVAC systems, not buying them. Pre-charged equipment is exempt from the federal refrigerant sales restriction, but the installation, including connecting and charging the refrigerant lines, must be done by an EPA Section 608-certified technician.
Will the manufacturer warranty be valid if I buy from you?
Have the system installed by a licensed dealer or contractor to code. Goodman's warranty excludes units ordered over the internet, by telephone or by other electronic means unless a dealer installs them in line with all applicable codes and licensing requirements. In Florida, Goodman does not require online registration for full coverage on units installed on or after July 1, 2024, but registering is still recommended.
Can I walk in and buy a unit today?
Our North Port warehouse serves scheduled pickups, not walk-in counter sales. Call (239) 771-0425 or order online, and in-stock systems are usually staged for pickup the same day.
Do you deliver?
Yes, delivery across Southwest Florida is available on request. Call for a delivery quote on your address.
